The Prophet Joshua
The Prophet Joshua has worked in terrestrial radio for almost 10 years, usually hanging around classic rock. Since they never play new music, Joshua has found a new home on 103.5 The Shark. Loving classic metal and hard rock all through the decades, he brings quality control to The Shark weekdays 11am-5pm. Always exercising and keeping up with new releases, The Prophet will tell you what tunes are great for a cardio playlist. 1. Who is your hero? Once upon a time I was a bass player/singer so my heroes are forever Lemmy Kilmister from Motorhead and Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy.
2. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I am suffering through a Louisiana summer so I'd prefer to be in Sweden or Norway right now. If I had to pick in the United States, I'd split time between Bar Harbor, Maine and San Diego, CA. Yes the total opposite ends of the country.
3. What is your biggest fear? Getting injured with no health insurance.
4. What really makes you angry? When there are obvious solutions to problems but people (government) purposely don't do those things.
5. What motivates you to work hard? Harder work = better rewards. (bar tab gets bigger)
6. What is your favorite thing about being on the radio? There is no limit in radio. You are in ultimate control of your success or failures. You get better when you are doing what you love.
7. What makes you laugh the most? Doug Stanhope - #1 standup comic
8. What are your favorite movies? Robocop & Jacob's Ladder but they're kinda the same movie
9. What did you want to be when you were a kid? It oscillated from astronaut to football player to pro wrestler to rock musician and now settled in annoying radio person
10. If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? Tour battlefields across Europe. I've already done that too.
11. What is your favorite game or sport to watch or play? This is America. The answer is football.
12. Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Drive a car but other than that, I've walked everywhere in every city I have lived in.
13. What two radio stations do you listen to in the car the most? I listen to new albums all the time, no time for radio. I'm doing research. Local talk stations in New Orleans would be first - WGSO 990AM and WWL 870AM.
14. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Ribeyes.
15. Have you ever had a nickname? What is it? "Heavy Metal Josh" and "The Prophet" and "Hey man that's my girlfriend"....also "Fabio"
16. If money was no object, what would you do all day? I would still do radio and talk about heavy metal and conspiracies.
17. What are your hobbies? OCD about always finding new music, curating my music collection, exercising, alternate theories of history and day drinking.
18. List two pet peeves. Government and the pharmaceutical industry.
19. Where do you see yourself in five years? Doing the exact same stuff with slightly more responsibility.
20. If you were a super hero, what powers would you have? All the basic Superman abilities, flight being #1.
21. What would you do if you won the lottery? Doing radio from my two oceanfront studios in Bar Harbor, Maine and Coronado San Diego, California.
22. If you could eat a meal with any 4 people, living or dead, who would they be? Phil Lynott, Lemmy Kilmister, Charles Bukowski, Ernest Hemingway
23. How many pillows do you sleep with? All the pillows.
24. What's your favorite holiday? Mardi Gras (if it's cold outside)
